We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found Adam. We encountered him by chance, when he was the listing agent on a house we wanted to see, and we knew instantly we wanted him on both sides of our home sale and search. Adam excels at the basic strengths you'd expect from a realtor: Communication, flexibility, tenacity, and savvy about the local market. Plus he's an extraordinarily nice person. But he brings two advantages that really make him a special find. One is brutal honesty, to a degree we had never expected from a realtor. Adam's frank assessments of the many homes we saw made it clear we weren't being spun or pushed -- in many cases, he spotted drawbacks before we did and brought them to our attention. We never once felt he was giving us anything but his unvarnished opinion, on the buying and selling side. His second big advantage: Adam knows St. Paul's old houses (he lives in one) and he knows construction (he built his cabin from the ground up). Adam recognized shoddy remodeling and do-it-yourself mistakes, and likewise pointed out quality work. And he helped us think through smart remodeling options for the homes we looked at. After going through the real estate process during one of the toughest markets in recent history, we consider Adam a friend and we would recommend him to anyone, without hesitation.

Several months before meeting Adam, my wife and I began the search for our first home working with another Realtor. Very early in our search, we had the misfortune of losing out on our “dream home” when another buyer beat us to the punch with a winning offer. After months of disappointing showings, we made the difficult decision to search for another Realtor. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Adam.
When we first met with Adam, we explained that we had very high expectations for our first home, but only a reasonable budget for the purchase. Adam was apparently undeterred by this, as he immediately kicked our home search into high gear. Some examples of the tireless efforts Adam undertook on our behalf are:
-He scheduled as many showings in a day as we were willing to bear;
-He called us, emailed us, and met with us in person at all hours of the day or night (which was great considering our very busy work schedules);
-When we were even slightly interested in a house, he provided a wealth of information that would help us decide whether to pursue it further;
-He wrote several “low” offers on our behalf and courteously, firmly, and intelligently advocated our position in negotiations;
-He respected our concerns and counseled us to make the best decisions for us, even when it was against his interest to do so – never pressuring us to move forward just so he could sell a home;
-Even against our wishes, he made compromises in his personal life to devote time and effort to our home search.
The end result of Adam’s efforts is that we purchased a home that we love, in a neighborhood we love, for a price significantly below the top of our budget. We only found such a home because Adam left his vacation early (against our request) to show the home to us before its first weekend on the market. Despite the fact that the home was only on the market for a short time, we put in an offer significantly below the asking price and then negotiated substantial concessions from the seller, amounting to tens of thousands of dollars we saved on the purchase.
Through the search for our first home, we learned that finding the perfect home takes patience, hard work, and an outstanding Realtor who is as devoted to the process as you are. Adam is, without question, one of the best Realtor’s in town and we will certainly work with him again in the event we should decide to move in the future. We enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend his services to anyone looking for a home in the St. Paul / Minneapolis area.
