Been selling real estate:
Since 2002, with Edina Realty since 2010.
- What caused you to look into real estate as a career path?
- I am passionate about houses. I really love the variety of styles, architecture and the different ways people design and build homes. It just seemed natural for me to sell real estate where I could be involved with my passion and get paid for it.
- What do you like most about working in real estate?
- Really listening to what your clients want and finding a house that fits them perfectly is just a great feeling. One of the biggest compliments you can get is having a client get teary-eyed at the closing table. You’ve helped them make their dream come true. It doesn’t get any better than that.
- Why did you choose Edina Realty?
- It’s because of Edina Realty’s brand recognition and number one market leader position that I joined this company. In my sales career I have always performed better when I was selling the better product. Overcoming client objections and marketing yourself is much easier when you have great resources and statistics to back you up.
- What do you like most about working with Edina Realty?
- The support teams are great here at Edina Realty. If you have a question, you can just walk down the hall or pick up the phone and get the answers you need whether it be from your manager, a title closer, loan officer, or someone from our Legal or Finance Department. At Edina Realty, you have all the resources you need – you’re never left in the dark. If you need to bounce an idea off of someone you can always find a fellow agent willing to listen and give you feedback. We have a great office with good energy…that always helps when you’re having a tough day.
- What advice would you give to someone considering a real estate career?
- Let’s be honest. The market today is difficult and REALTORS® are working harder and having to learn more than ever before. If you’re willing to work hard and put in the effort – you will succeed in real estate. The market will turn around and when it does, you’ll be a better agent for all you learned during the downturn.
