Visit the Hudson Christmas Tour of Homes and Craft Sale

Those looking for a holiday event in Hudson this weekend don't need to look any further.

The Christmas Tour of Homes & Craft Sales is featuring a number of holiday activities that will be fun for the whole family. Event-goers will be able to tour five privately owned homes and the historic Octagon House. All the homes will have their halls decked in Christmas spirit.

"Find the perfect item for your home or gift for a friend at the Craft Sale & Marketplace held in conjunction with the Christmas Tour of Homes!" reads the Hudson area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau website. "Explore the booths 30 crafters on the ground floor and 14 marketplace vendors on the second level of the Hudson House Grand Hotel. Jewelry, apparel, ornaments, household goods, and gourmet foods are among the most popular items."

There will be a Black Tie Affair on Nov., 22, featuring the Evening Dazzle Tour, appetizers, desserts, a cash bar and entertainment. For $35, event-goers can take partake in just the Evening Dazzle Tour and for only $18 the Traditional Tour will also be offered. Visit the Hudson Chamber of Commerce website for additional details.

What is the Octagon House?
The Octagon House is maintained by the St. Croix County Historical Society. It is an eight-sided home that serves as a museum, featuring Victorian-era furnishings and cultural exhibits. The original owners were Judge John Moffat and his wife, Nancy. The house is representative of a common eight-sided home that was popular during the mid-19th century.

"Such a house was considered conducive to healthy living, as light and air could enter from eight directions," according to the St. Croix County Historical Society.
