 The Brainerd Lakes Area includes Brainerd, Baxter, Breezy Point, Crosslake, Crosby, Deerwood, Merrfiled, Nisswa, Peaquot Lakes, Pillager, and Pine River. Although I focus mainly on the Brainerd Lakes Area, I am happy to help anywhere in Minnesota!

The Brainerd Lakes Area has a ton of different job and career opportunities with an unemployment rate of 2.5%. Based on Minnesota's average family size of three people (two adults and one child), the Crow Wing County's average yearly cost of living is $56,371 a year.

Schools in the Brainerd Area

Here in the Brainerd Lakes Area there are multiple choices when it comes to the education for your child(ren).

The Brainerd District has six elementary schools, one middle school and a high school. The elementary school your child(ren) will go to will depend on your address and which school is closest. The Brainerd elementary schools include: Riverside, Baxter, Whittier, Lowell, Harrison, and Garfield. The Brainerd school district has a huge graduating class of 450-500 students, ranking 50th state wide, and 2,882 in national rankings (© U.S. News & World Report L.P.).

Recreational Activities in the Brainerd Lakes Area

The Brainerd Lakes Area is full of fun activities and events year round for adults and family's to enjoy.

In the summer time Nisswa does turtle races downtown just off of Main Street. Afterwards, there are many local shops and restaurants to enjoy within walking distance! Nisswa also has a fun restaurant called, "Main Street" where they have axe throwing at!

Pine River does an annual Summerfest in July, where the entire community comes together for duck racing, softball torment, and a flea market festival!

The Brainerd/ Baxter have a lot to offer as well! They have a zoo called, "Safari North" just south of town. "Ski Gull" is a fun spot where you can zipline all summer and tube, snow board and ski all winter. "Jacks House" bowling alley has $2 buck bowling Thursday nights. We even have a dirt track south of town called, "North Central Speedway" and a tar racing track known as, "Brainerd International Raceway- B.I.R" north of Brainerd!


Day Cares in the Brainerd Lakes Area

The U.S. Department of Commerce determined that in Brainerd about 7.8% of the population is under five years old. Therefore in the Brainerd Lakes Area, we have multiple daycares. According to Winnie, there are 55 places in Brainerd, and approximately seven of them offer part time care. Winnie also claims that the average monthly cost for daycare is around $667 for full time care.
