Scott Smullen Named 'Emmy' Award Winner



Edina, Minn. – Jan. 16, 2014 – Scott Smullen, an IT analyst and Bloomington resident, was honored with an Edina Realty “Emmy” award on Jan. 16 at a special luncheon honoring the two award winners.

Established to honor company founder Emma L. Rovick, the “Emmy” Award is given annually to one employee and one agent who exemplify Edina Realty’s core values of honesty, integrity and commitment, who excel in customer service, leadership, team building and/or make significant contributions to the company or industry. This year, past Emmy award winners and current nominees reviewed all of the nominations and voted for the top three finalists in both categories, and the entire company voted for the final award winners.

Smullen has been supporting Edina Realty REALTORS® and employees with their technology needs since 2004, first as a member of the Technical Support team and later as an IT analyst. Over the years, he has answered thousands of requests from agents and staff and regularly travels to sales offices to offer in-person training and assistance.

Smullen has had a hand in launching all of Edina Realty’s mobile apps and other technology tools, from determining the needs of agents and staff to testing the technology to creating training materials. He serves as a brand evangelist for the Dare to Compare recruiting program and has helped win over many agents to Edina Realty from other brokerages. In his free time, Smullen transports and fosters surrendered dogs for the English Springer Rescue Organization.
