Edina Realty Takes Part in REALTOR® Nationwide Open House Apr. 10-11



Edina, Minn. – April 5, 2010 – Edina Realty is participating in the REALTOR® Nationwide Open House April 10-11, the first event of its kind in the nation.

In a cooperative effort among more than 100 REALTOR® associations like the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS®, St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS, and North Metro REALTORS® Association, homes will be held open in more than 25 states across the U.S, making it easy for people who are house hunting to drop in on properties that fit their search criteria. The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for sellers to showcase their home while potential buyers take advantage of great interest rates, exceptional values and the soon-to-expire homebuyer tax credits.

The area’s most popular real estate site, Edina Realty’s Web site, www.edinarealty.com, enables househunters to easily find properties throughout Minnesota, western Wisconsin and Fargo, N.D. that match their search criteria, and to see which ones will be held open. An “Open” icon appears on the houses that will be open; consumers can then mouse over the icon to pull up property photos and details, including the ability to “map their tour.” Consumers visiting www.edinarealty.com can search Edina Realty’s listings as well as those of other brokers.

The mobile-friendly Web site, m.edinarealty.com, also enables consumers to access key parts of the site from their Web-enabled mobile device.

This is one of the final weekends for both first-time and repeat homebuyers to take advantage of the Extended and Expanded Tax Credit. The tax credit offers up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers and up to $6,500 for existing homeowners who have lived in their home for at least five consecutive years of the last eight. Buyers must have a signed purchase agreement by April 30, 2010 and close on their home by June 30, 2010.
