Despite its admittedly confusing name, the West Side neighborhood in St. Paul is located south of downtown St. Paul across the Smith Bridge. It’s named West Side by virtue of its placement on the west bank of the Mississippi River. West Side homes for sale are typically properties built before 1940. St. Paul School District 197 has three elementary schools in this St. Paul neighborhood: Cherokee Heights, River View West Side and Roosevelt Elementary. The area is also served by Humboldt Junior and Senior High Schools.
