In 1958, I became a resident of the Sheridan neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis. At age 28, I moved to the Holland neighborhood where I made my first home purchase @ 22nd & 6th. St. NE. and at 42 my family and I moved back to Sheridan to our second home purchase, a duplex at 15th. & University Ave NE.

My career in the customer service industry began in my early double digits delivering papers, working at Jax Café and fixing small engines in our family garage and at 16 working at a small engine parts distributor in North Mpls and repairing lawnmowers for a local hardware store on 13th Ave. NE. My growing up home was on 6th St. NE, close to Broadway and my father was a proficient handyman and the owner of a 4-plex on Madison St., he imparted valuable knowledge about home maintenance and repair to me. 

On July 19, 1985, I became a REALTOR® with Thorpe Bros. Real Estate at the Columbia Heights office and in 1990, Edina Realty acquired Thorpe Bros and I am now the longest-licensed realtor living in Northeast. 

My love for Northeast Minneapolis is evident in my vehicle's license plate, which reads "ILOVENE," and my online business pages include NEmplshomes. 

Over the years, I've visited thousands of homes and I love and know old homes; I’ve bought and renovated a few and honed my ability to discern good from not-so-good properties. I've closed 995 sales so far, primarily in the Northeast, but also across the metro area, dealing with various property types including single-family homes, duplexes, small apartments, condos, and light commercial spaces.

I've also handled over 100 estates and divorce-related sales, and I'm well-versed in all financing options, FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-conventional, Adjustable rate, Assumption, and Contract for Deed and I can identify potential issues and red flags in real estate transactions.
