Located south of Powderhorn at the southern edge of Minneapolis city limits, Nokomis is bordered by Interstate 35W to the west, Hiawatha Avenue to the east, 42nd Street to the north and Highway 62 to the south.
Nokomis has 11 neighborhoods: Diamond Lake, Ericsson, Field, Hale, Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park, Northrop, Page, Regina and Wenonah. Nokomis homes for sale include single-family homes built between the 1920s to 1960s, including two-story Colonial, stucco, brick and stone houses.

Minnehaha Park, a 193-acre park with a large picnic area, bike rentals and plenty of biking and walking trails, is a highlight of the area. Minnehaha Falls is a 53-foot waterfall located at the center of the park. Residents also enjoy the Minnehaha Dog Park, an off-leash recreation area on the south end of Minnehaha Park.
