Joleen McFadden Named Executive Director of the Edina Realty Foundation

joleen mcfaddenEdina, Minn.— May 20, 2016 – Joleen McFadden, marketing manager for Edina Realty Title, has been named the executive director of the Edina Realty Foundation. Founded in 1996, the Edina Realty Foundation, a not-for-profit, private foundation, offers financial support to non-profit organizations that provide housing and related services to homeless families throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

McFadden has led the Foundation efforts for Edina Realty Title for more than two years. “Joleen’s results-oriented approach and relationship-builiding skills will serve her well in this role,” said Greg Mason, president and CEO of Edina Realty Home Services.

McFadden replaces Susan Cowsert who served as the Foundation’s executive director for the past 20 years. “Susan played a critical part in creating the Foundation in 1996, and her constant support has been unmatched,” Mason said. Under Cowsert’s direction, the Foundation donated more than $8 million to causes related to homelessness and homelessness prevention.

The Edina Realty Foundation supports organizations that provide housing and related services such as counseling and medical care to homeless children, individuals and families. Organizations that receive grants from the Edina Realty Foundation include Bridging, Inc., Cornerstone, Family Hope Services, Freedom Place, Home Free Shelter, Learning Center, Loaves and Fishes, Person to Person and Sharing & Caring Hands. Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000; the average grant is $2,000. More than 96 percent of funds raised goes directly to organizations serving the homeless.

Edina Realty matches a portion of the contributions made by Edina Realty REALTORS®. The Foundation also receives the proceeds from office fundraisers as well as individual donations from employees of the Edina Realty family of companies, which includes Edina Realty, Edina Realty Mortgage, Edina Realty Title and Edina Realty Insurance. Edina Realty REALTORS® and employees also volunteer time to non-profit organizations in their communities.
