Edina, Minn. – Dec. 21, 2011 – LeRoy J. Bendickson, a REALTOR® with Edina Realty's 6800 France Ave. Edina office and a resident of Mahtomedi, Minn., was honored with a Community Involvement Award from the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS® (MAAR).
"We here at MAAR would like to thank you for your dedication and commitment through our Community Involvement Award, where we recognize MAAR members who give back to the community," said Brad Fisher, MAAR president. "It is a way for all MAAR members to be made aware of and be inspired by other members to reach out and give back to their communities."
Bendickson will receive the Community Involvement Award on January 19 at MAAR's annual Installation Dinner. He will be recognized along with four other MAAR members.
A REALTOR® with Edina Realty since 1992, Bendickson has raised nearly $1 million for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter. Over the last 20 years, he has completed 24 150-mile rides and led many bike teams, including his 251-strong "Real Estate Riders" team, in the MS Society's two-day, 150-mile race.
Bendickson's "Real Estate Riders" consistently ranks among the top three teams in raising funds for the MS Society's Minnesota Chapter. But Bendickson says he's not about to quit yet. "Raising funds for MS is a lifetime journey for me," he says.
