HomeServices of America Announces Leadership Transition for Edina Realty Home Services

MINNEAPOLIS – July 8, 2025 – HomeServices of America, the nation’s premier provider of homeownership services—including brokerage, mortgage, franchising, title, escrow, insurance, and relocation services—today announced a leadership transition for Edina Realty Home Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of HomeServices of America.

Greg Mason, president and CEO of Edina Realty Home Services, will be stepping into the role of Chairman, and Sharry Schmid, who currently serves as president of Edina Realty, will succeed Mason as the leader of Edina Realty Home Services, which includes brokerage, mortgage, title and insurance. Schmid brings nearly 30 years of experience as a well-respected, innovative leader in the industry.

Edina Realty is the largest residential real estate firm in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, and has remained the market leader in home sales in the area for 25 consecutive years. In 2024, the company completed nearly 18,000 transactions and $7.4 billion in sales volume.

Mason will continue in an advisory capacity throughout 2025, but sees his role as one of support and assistance as he transitions duties to Schmid full-time. “I’ve worked very closely with Sharry throughout her career, and I can say with confidence that Edina Realty Home Services is in capable and steady hands. Sharry brings vision, strength and an unwavering dedication to our mission. Mason joined Edina Realty Home Services in 1986 as corporate legal counsel. In 1997, he was named president of Edina Realty Title, and he became president and CEO of Edina Realty Home Services in 2014. He has long been considered an expert with remarkable depth and breadth of real estate knowledge, a calm and measured approach and a passion for technology.

Schmid has long been a visionary. Over her 29 years with Edina Realty Home Services, she has served in a variety of capacities, from title closings to leading a division focused on large-scale condominium projects, and from managing the company’s largest sales offices to overseeing all of brokerage as president of Edina Realty.
